The COVID-19 pandemic certainly is a major inconvenience for any travelers plans. Most importantly when it comes to overnight accommodations. Thankfully the Embassy Inn by FOUND had a room available for a quick overnight trip to the nation's capital for me to attend the late Congressman's John Lewis viewing at the US Capitol Building. Rates are very affordable in this part of the city, and my room with a queen bed was clean and stocked with the basic necessary items. Front desk service was courteous and mask wearing is required at all times in the hotel lobby, hallways, and stairs. Located not too far from the Metro Red Line Dupont Circle station, and many local eateries and restaurants, I'd highly recommend it for those who are young, single, or traveling as a couple. Due to no available parking area, and no included continental breakfast of any kind, I would strongly advise travelers with young kids making a reservation despite the attractive prices posted online. Like those explorers who discovered California in the 16th century. They certainly did not bring their kids along with them;)

In short: PROS: -Room looks exactly as the pictures previewed -Friendly, welcoming staff -Clean, comfortable -Functioning heat/AC -Sizable -Complimentary coffee/tea/wine in the evening -Great location for sightseeing -Great location for dining CONS -Sparse public transit (but that's the rest of DC as well) -Thin walls In depth: A guest and I stayed in the premium 1 Queen bed room for a two-night stay. It was a last-minute reservation, as we canceled our booking from one hotel to this one due to better reviews, and were at first nervous about what to expect. We had read reviews about the rooms not being renovated or genuine to the pictures online, and would be coming with the expectation that the room would only be for sleeping. We were pleasantly surprised. We had a late arrival, around 1AM (I called ahead and let them know; they said it was fine as long as we arrived before 3AM). Check-in was smooth and quick, the room was on the fourth floor and was exactly like the pictures previewed online. It was a pretty decent size for what we paid, clean and comfortable, small TV and great bed-- wish I took photos of it. The staff was friendly with every interaction we had. We didn't stay in the room for most of our visit, but did not find anything to complain. If anything, the windows couldn't cancel out much street traffic but we expected it being on a busy road. There's not a close train nearby but there is a couple buses, but we ended up walking to most of our destinations which wasn't bad for the north-of-central location the hotel is from all the popular sights (e.g. the White House is a 10-15 minute walk away). I highly recommend this hotel. If I ever visit DC again I will most likely stay here again.
